Bell Pottinger supports Stockport County FC investor Tony Evans

Bell
Pottinger,Britain's top ranking public relations group, has been
brought in to handle communications for a consortium that plans to
acquire a majority stake in Stockport County Football Club.
The campaign is being overseen by Bell Pottinger North director
John Butters who represents Tony Evans, theLiverpoolbusinessman who
heads the consortium and who has been appointed as a director of
the club.
Bell Pottinger North's involvement has already included
organising yesterday's press conference which named former
Liverpool andManchesterCitymidfielder Dietmar Hamann as team
manager.
"Our
role is to communicate key developments and manage some of the
speculation surrounding the investment," said Bell Pottinger
North's director, John Butters.
"Tony is keen to be as transparent as possible, but everyone
needs to understand that there will be times during the investment
process when there will be a vacuum of information - either because
there is nothing to say or because of confidentially clauses."
Bell Pottinger North previously represented the former Thai
Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra during his ownership of
Manchester City FC, and the consultancy has also worked with
Azerbaijani club Gabala FC and Soccerex.
