ShelterBox Update
15.11.2011
Congratulations to our MD Chris Warham who in the past month has
successfully completed a gruelling disaster relief course to join
ShelterBox's emergency
response team.
The charities arduous assessment course involved Chris and his
fellow volunteers learning safety skills about how to survive in a
disaster zone, how to work with partners including the government,
military and other aid agencies, how to design and run other
emergency camps, and to get aid to the most vulnerable.
Chris is now on call to travel anywhere in the world if a
disaster occurs. He's one of just 180 volunteers trained by
ShelterBox to assist families who have lost their homes as a result
of a disaster..
Commenting Chris said: "It has been a very intense experience
but brilliant for personal development. I can now get a call
or email at any point asking me to deploy anywhere in the
world.
"My colleagues and family have been really supportive.
ShelterBox delivers shelter, warmth and dignity to families who
have lost their homes through natural or manmade disaster anywhere
in the world. I just want to help that work."
The Bell Pottinger team has raised a staggering £8,000 towards
their target of £10,000 for ShelterBox and staff members still have
a range of activities to undertake to reach their total.
