Arley Homes has been acknowledged by the NHBC with a Pride in the Job Quality Award. Andy Ward, site manager of the superb Chanters Green development in Atherton, has been invited to attend the northern regional awards luncheon in Newcastle on October 29th 2010.

The Quality Award is the first level of recognition in a series of honours headed up by the National House Building Council, which are given to a site manager for carrying out an exceptional level of work on their development. Andy was one of 400 winners out of 13,000 eligible site managers who were assessed by the NHBC. In October he will find out if he has been further rewarded with the prestigious NHBC Seal of Excellence and, potentially, the Regional Award.

Andy is thrilled with the achievement. He said: "I am delighted we have won this Quality Award. I have worked closely with a dedicated team of designers and builders and everyone involved was determined to make Chanters Green an exceptional development. I accept this award on behalf of everyone at Arley Homes because the whole team deserves to be recognised.

"I have been in the industry for 20 years and not had the opportunity to enter for an award until now, so to win one from the NHBC fills me with great pride and immense job satisfaction. It is always hugely rewarding to be recognised by the industry but what's even more encouraging is the feedback we receive from our customers, especially when they say they appreciate our efforts and attention to detail. Quality control is extremely important and I think it's always worth going that extra step to make sure we always exceed expectations."

One buyer has been singing her site manager's praises since she moved in. New Chanters Green resident Margaret Turner said: "Our new home is fantastic and the whole moving experience has been made even better by the staff at Arley Homes, especially our site manager. Andy has been so attentive, nothing is too much trouble for him, he even showed us how to turn on the heating. He always makes sure to give us a wave in the morning, it's those little things that make a big difference."

Each nominated site manager undergoes spot checks and individual assessments which include their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place. Only site managers who demonstrate exceptional standards in every aspect of their work are rewarded with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.

John Cosgrave, managing director of Arley Homes, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for Andy and the whole team who worked extremely hard to ensure the Chanters Green development is not only built to high standards, but that it is an attractive and desirable place to live.

"All of our construction teams work extremely hard and I am delighted that once again one of our site managers has been recognised by the industry organisation responsible for quality."

Arley Homes is no stranger to the NHBC Pride in the Job award scheme. Last year site manager Bill Wilson picked up the Quality Award for Arley's Churchfields development in Harwood and went on to win a Seal of Excellence and the North West Regional Award. Churchfields has also been recognised once again this year with the Quality Award.
