Preferred Office Environments Plc boosts turnover
6/30/2010

Preferred Office Environments Plc has announced encouraging half year results, despite a challenging year for the construction and fit-out industry. The Sale-based office specialist has reported a turnover of £4.5m for the first half of the year, representing a 212 per cent increase on the same period in 2009.
Major contracts such as a multi-million pound fit out for PZ Cussons' new headquarters at Manchester Airport and refurbishments for Peel Group and Midas contributed towards the company's strong financial performance.
Eddie Gondwe, finance manager at Preferred Office Environments, said: "2009 was a particularly challenging year for the industry with project work in short supply and many companies unable to secure funding from the banks. However, our blue-chip client base and record of successful delivery helped to protect us from the worst of the downturn.
"Although the trading environment is still tough, the market is starting to pick up and we are very encouraged by our half-year results. We have delivered a number of large projects for some major blue-chip clients and have a healthy project pipeline. We are confident that we can build on the success of the last six months and deliver one of our highest turnovers by the end of this year."
Established in 1996, the 25-strong team of project managers, site-based personnel, designers, quantity surveyors and furniture specialists provide ‘turn key' fit-out solutions to customers across a number of sectors, including legal, healthcare, financial, transport and technology. Clients can also opt for a modular approach, selecting individual specialist services to suit their business requirements.
