Axis presents new HDTV PTZ dome camera with unparalleled performance
3/24/2010Axis Communications, the global market leader in the network video market1, today introduces its top-of-the-line pan/tilt/zoom dome camera with outstanding mechanical performance, HDTV video quality and 18x optical zoom for indoor applications. AXIS Q6034 PTZ Dome Network Camera, which has an IP52-rated protection against dust and dripping water, provides easy and reliable installation and is ideal for use in airports, train stations, casinos, stadiums and shopping malls.
"AXIS Q6034 combines high-speed and robust pan/tilt capability with HDTV-quality video to provide exceptional coverage of large areas and great detail when zooming in on an object," says Phil Doyle, managing director, Axis Communications. "AXIS Q6034 is easy to install and is powered using High Power over Ethernet. An outdoor-ready version is also planned for release later this year."
AXIS Q6034 provides HDTV 720p in compliance with SMPTE 296M standard of 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, full frame rate, HDTV color fidelity and a 16:9 format. The camera's day and night functionality ensures high image quality even in low light conditions. AXIS Q6034 can deliver multiple, individually configurable H.264 and Motion JPEG video streams simultaneously. H.264 greatly optimizes bandwidth and storage use without compromising image quality, while Motion JPEG is supported for increased flexibility.
The PTZ dome camera provides 18x optical and 12x digital zoom with autofocus. Due to its HDTV resolution, AXIS Q6034's 18x zoom provides not only a level of detail that is comparable to a 36x-zoom, 4CIF-resolution camera but also the extra advantage of a wider, 16:9 field of view with zoomed-in views. AXIS Q6034 enables 180° tilt and 360° continuous pan at a speed of 0.05° to 450° per second. The camera's support for High Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3at) simplifies installation since only one cable is required for power, video and PTZ controls. A High PoE midspan is supplied with the camera.
AXIS Q6034 features the Advanced Gatekeeper functionality, which enables the camera to automatically move to a preset position when motion is detected in a pre-defined area and return to the home position after a set time. When an optional multi-connector cable is used, the camera supports two-way audio and audio detection, in addition to four configurable inputs/outputs for connection to devices such as sensors and relays. The camera's SD/SDHC slot enables recordings to be stored locally.
AXIS Q6034 provides the market's most advanced suite of security and network management capabilities. The camera is supported by the AXIS Camera Station video management software, as well as the industry's largest base of application software through Axis' Application Development Partner program. AXIS Q6034 will be available to order in May 2010. For photos and other resources, please visit http://www.axis.com/corporate/press/press_material.htm?key=q6034.
