There were big smiles all round when newlyweds Margaret and Graham Turner moved into their new home at Chanters Green in Atherton. Married for just six months, the couple were delighted to have bought their first home together and received a warm welcome from their builder, Arley Homes.
Margaret, a 42-year-old retail manager, loves her new house so much, and was so pleased with her experience of purchasing a property from Arley, that she's telling everyone. She said: "I tell customers in my shop and patients in the doctor's waiting room, even people on the street, that Chanters Green is amazing. The house itself is beautiful and spacious, I can't believe the quality and attention to detail, both inside and out. My kitchen is amazing, and with two double bedrooms we have so much more room inside that I thought we'd get for the money.
"What's also great is the people at Arley Homes who have made moving completely stress free and actually enjoyable for us. The site manager has been so attentive, nothing is too much trouble for him, he even showed us how to turn on the heating and there's always a wave in the morning. The sales adviser was also absolutely fantastic. There was no hard sell or pressure, it was all very relaxed and she helped us to choose the perfect property and the right purchasing package. I would buy another Arley Home in an instant, in fact we are considering doing just that and keeping it as an investment property."
Margaret and Graham, 48, are not alone and their experience is far from unusual for Arley Homes' customers. Jim Bowers, Arley's sales manager, is celebrating his team's 100 per cent success rate in a recent customer satisfaction survey. Everyone questioned, from across the portfolio of North West developments, agreed that they would recommend Arley to a friend - the widely accepted acid test for developers.
The survey was carried out on behalf of Arley by InHouse, the property market research specialists, and showed all buyers who completed the survey were either "satisfied" or "very satisfied". Arley also compared favourably to other housebuilders using the same questionnaire.
Jim Bowers said: "I am delighted that our buyers feel they have had such a positive experience when purchasing from us, we take great pride in our customer service and so it is very satisfying for us to have such positive feedback. Moving house can be a stressful time but we make a huge effort to ensure buyers are well looked after tailoring a package just for them, and making sure our after-sales service is equally considerate."
The InHouse survey reflected the experience of buyers on the national scene. Customer satisfaction levels are going up right across the industry according to a recent report from the House Builder's Federation. The HBF annual survey found the proportion of satisfied customers went up in the last year from 76 per cent to 88 per cent of buyers who would recommend their builder to a friend.
Chanters Green is an elegant development of 28 traditional two-storey properties, in a mixture of five different house styles, cleverly designed to blend the contemporary with the traditional.
