Bell Pottinger North helps to ‘unlock’ the memories of people with dementia

The Macclesfield office of Bell Pottinger, Britain's number one public relations group, has been appointed by Dementia Life Ltd ahead of its UK launch of innovative technology systems for people with dementia.
The consultancy's team at Bell Pottinger North will deliver a proactive media relations campaign to support the launch of the two systems that are the product of ten years' meticulous academic research by teams at the Universities of St Andrews and Dundee.
The Computer Interactive Reminiscence and Conversation Aid (CIRCA) system helps people with dementia by presenting a range of carefully selected media to allow them and their carer to communicate more effectively as they share memories that would usually remain ‘locked' away. The Living in the Moment (LIM) system offers engaging, interactive activities that encourage skill and creativity.
Bell Pottinger North account director, Alex Henshall, said: "There are over 820,000 people living with dementia in the UK, a figure which is set to rise with our ageing population.
"The new technology offered by Dementia Life helps those people and their carers positively express themselves by helping to improve their overall quality of life. It will be important for us to communicate that message through a targeted media relations campaign."
