Thwaites Thoroughly Good Thirds for National Cask Ale Week

01.10.2011

Thwaites pubs across the North are supporting National Cask Ale Week 2011 (1st - 9th October) with a range of activities to introduce and encourage customers, old and new, to sample the Lancashire-based brewers range of traditional and innovative cask ales.

The theme for Cask Ale Week 2011 is 'Try Before You Buy' and many of the Thwaites pubs, like the Bonny Inn near Blackburn, will be providing customers with Thoroughly Good Taster Trays allowing customers to enjoy three different thirds of a pint for the price of a pint.

In addition to the Taster Trays, there will be a range of activities across the estate celebrating cask ales. For example, The Bonny Inn's weekly Tuesday night quiz will include an additional 'Guess the Beer' round, on Wednesday, 5th October there will be a free taster night plus on Friday, 7th October there will be a special visit from the famous Thwaites Shire Horses.

Thwaites marketing manager Lee Williams said: "Cask Ale Week is a great opportunity for pubs to raise the profile of cask ale amongst new consumers or encourage those acquainted with cask beer to try something different.

"The third pint glasses are a great way to do this, getting consumers to compare flavours of the different beer styles on offer and share their experiences. We've a total of nine cask ales to try, from favourites including Wainwright and Bomber to the Signature ale seasonal range featuring Nutty All Black, brewed to celebrate the Rugby World Cup."

The Shire Horses have already kicked of Thwaites' National Cask Ale Week activity with a visit to the national retail group, Enterprise Inns in Solihull on Friday, 30th September. Thwaites' sales staff were on hand and spent the day with the telesales team helping to sell Thwaites cask ales with a little help from Wainwright and Midas.
