Thwaites puts New Ale Proudly on Display for Armistace Day
31.10.2011
Lancashire-based brewer Thwaites is parading Our Boys, the
latest edition to its popular Signature ale range.
A golden hoppy ale, with wonderful tropical fruit flavours, Our
Boys has been brewed in the run up to Armistice Day (11 November
2011). And to show that female Armed Forces personnel are also
front of mind, Thwaites has produced a special pink beer pump
'clip' called Our Girls, so drinkers can choose to support the blue
of Our Boys or the pink of Our Girls.
Thwaites is hoping to raise £5,000 from sales of Our Boys and
Our Girls for the Royal British Legion which provides welfare to
the whole Armed Forces family - serving, ex-Service and their
dependants. The Royal British Legion also runs the annual Poppy
Appeal and is one of the UK's largest membership organisations
The 4.4% ABV will be available in Thwaites pubs, its independent
free trade network and through selected national wholesalers.
Lee Williams, marketing manager of Thwaites said: "Our Boys has
been brewed with the armed forces in mind and the occasions of
Armistice Day and Remembrance Day. Thwaites is very proud to have
linked with The Royal British Legion for a number of years and to
donate a percentage to the appeal through direct beer sales.
Hopefully Our Boys with its distinctive flavours will have drinkers
standing to attention. And the blue and pink pump clips will allow
drinkers to show their appreciation to both men and women in the
Armed Forces."
Thwaites would be interested to hear what drinkers think about
Our Boys. Feedback can be given via twitter @daniel_thwaites
