Bramall Construction specifies Sandtoft’s PV roofing system

Bramall Construction has specified
Sandtoft's PV48 solar roofing system for eight new houses in Parson
Cross, Sheffield. The regeneration specialist is the first major
building contractor in its sector to use the Sandtoft PV48 solar
system since it was launched just three months ago.
Designed to integrate with virtually all types of slate
and tile, the PV48 system incorporates black photovoltaic panels
with matching, easy-to-fit flashings. 68 panels have been installed
with 13,000 of Sandtoft's 20/20 clay roof tiles, which are designed
to lower labour and material costs, and cut completion
times.
"We chose the PV48 as it offered more flexibility than the
other solar products we have used in the past, and requires minimal
training to install," said Lauren Riley, Design and Build
Coordinator at Bramall Construction. "As the panels and flashings
are both black, the system will also result in a very aesthetic
appearance on the roof."
Andrew Lawton, sales director for Sandtoft added: "We are
delighted to be awarded this new contract with one of the country's
leading community regeneration specialists.
"Despite only being on the market since March, the PV48
system has generated a significant amount of interest from
companies across the construction sector. One of its key benefits
is that it can be integrated with other manufacturer's roof tiles
as well as those offered by Sandtoft, providing developers with a
very flexible solution. It can also be quickly and efficiently
installed by any roofing contractor, which saves time and
ultimately money."
The eight, two-storey properties form part of a housing
infill project in the area for Sheffield City Council. The scheme
is being built on behalf of South Yorkshire Housing Association who
will manage the homes once they are tenanted.
