Development Securities PLC, a leading property and investment company, appointed Bell Pottinger North as they needed a communications partner to deliver a consultation strategy for the redevelopment of The Square Shopping Centre in Hale Barns, Cheshire. Development Securities acquired The Square Shopping Centre in April 2010 with the aim of improving a scheme, which was originally granted planning consent in 2008 after a two-year planning battle and high-profile opposition campaign waged by a local residents’ group. The proposed development includes a Booths supermarket, 24 apartments and space for up to 10 shops.
